Aftermarket automotive air conditioning is now available in kits to install in your cars. However, simply adding components will not suffice. Even though they've attempted to make the installation process as simple as possible, there are still several ways to go wrong and end up with a situation that doesn't work.

There are a few things to keep in mind when installing modern air conditioning.

1.Overfilling compressor with oil

All of the refrigerant oil necessary for optimum system functioning is in every compressor. However, avoid overfilling your aftermarket compressor because systems levels and performance will suffer. Make sure you don't fully unlock new compressors until you connect the whole system.

2.Inadequate sealing and insulating

Having a fundamental understanding of how aftermarket automotive air conditioning works is crucial. Your aftermarket condenser fan won’t fully work if you keep the windows open. Remember that no amount of A/C will ever be enough to chill your car if hot air is allowed to enter.

3.Small condenser

The condenser distributes the heat you've accumulated within your car to the environment. However, installing a small aftermarket condenser might be an efficient choice. Each component must cooperate with all others for the system to function correctly.

4.No thermal management

Automotive thermal management works together to keep tabs on the pressure and temperature in your air conditioning system. Without this, it won’t determine how much refrigerant the car can safely pump into the evaporator without causing damage.

5.Incorrect charge to the system

If you are overcharging a system with too much refrigerant or oil, it results in more significant operating pressures and decreased efficiency. Make sure you observe airflow between the aftermarket radiator and condenser. An undercharged system will have reduced operating levels and a lower standard of work.
