Everyone is born equal. There’s no such thing as rich, poor, uneducated,  or racism in humanity. However, there’s a  division because of – societal standards and inequality. Through societal norms, some standards set people apart. Through educational inequality, some people lose the opportunities they deserve.

As a citizen, you can raise awareness about the importance of education. You can start by learning why education should be free for everyone.

  • Open More Job Opportunities

It’s challenging to find a job if you don’t have an educational background, especially since Singapore has a competitive work industry. Without education, people would have a hard time finding a job, and consequently, it’ll be harder for them to earn money.

  • Equal Opportunities for Everyone

If everyone had access to education, you'd notice that fewer people living in poverty is possible. Education can eradicate inequality in society because everyone has the opportunity to learn how to read, write, and count.

  • Giving Back to Communities

Children are the future of the country. Someday, they will be the ones who will give back to their communities. That's why the government should solve poverty and education inequality to provide the younger generation with the future they deserve.

  • Bridging Differences

The effects of poverty have created a social divide among the rich and poor. Once you give everyone the chance to access education,  people will start to build bridges for achieving unity despite the differences in skin colour, ethnicity, sexual orientation, etc.

  • Good for Economy

Educational inequality also affects the country's economy. Without educated people, there will be no professionals who can build the country for the better. Education is the key to everyone's success and nation-building.
